Hello again,
Where did the months go? I blinked and December was gone, I turned around and January disappeared. In just a moment February will be over. Stop!! Time is going way too fast…..
Hope your Christmas and New Year Celebrations were everything you’d hoped for and you’ve started 2014 full of enthusiasm and energy. (Note to self….keep taking those vitamins)
Firstly – some changes. As of Tuesday 4th March 2014 we will be opening at 9.00am instead of 8.00am and although the rest of the premises will remain open until 5.00pm the cafe will close at 4.30pm. We look forward to welcoming you during these hours!
Let’s start the new year with something glamorous. This gorgeous bathroom is brought to us by Regency Distribution Worlds Away Products. They really know ‘style’ – I couldn’t resist a couple of their pieces myself! (More about that later)
Described as a ‘decadent’ bathroom this picture illustrates the effect a fabulous light fitting, classy tiles and gorgeous mirror can have on even the smallest room.
I was very excited to hear that a colour called ‘Breath of Fresh Air’ was floated (no pun intended) as the 2014 colour of the year on one of the sites I follow. It is a lovely soft shade of blue – bringing me back to one of my favourite soap box topics….don’t be afraid of colour!
The pictures that follow are examples of atmosphere created by subtle colour changes. It doesn’t have to be bright and bold, gently and soothing works just as well in the right place.
Before
After
Whilst we’re on the subject of my favourite ‘soap box’ topics…I really love a rug to tie an area together. Following are before and after pictures of the same area – but highlighting the difference a rug makes to the space. Hope you agree that it really helps to define areas.
Another of my favourite subjects is jewellry – having just been to the trade fair this past weekend I can share one new piece with you. I can’t wait for all the new bags and jewellry to arrive. Of course I have ordered more of the Ana Collins necklaces, earrings and bracelets which have been so very popular, but also found some gorgeous new stuff. Hope you’ll like them as much as I did!
Gorgeous new necklace…
Lastly I thought I’d share a little project I’m working on. This newsletter will have the ‘before’ shot and hopefully by the next – the finished product.
The before shot…..
So, as always, I’ll finish off by saying….remember to take a little time for yourself.
Until next time, keep smiling.
